mi DGT App
The Mi DGT app, provided by the Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), centralizes various vehicle and driver documentation and services on mobile devices. Here are some key features of the app:
- Digital Documentation: Users can carry a digital version of their driving license and vehicle documentation, such as the Permiso de Circulación and Ficha Técnica for vehicles registered from November 2016 onwards. These documents are legally valid across Spain, although physical copies are recommended during the initial phase of the app's implementation.
- Administrative Functions: The app allows users to view the status of their driving points and details of vehicles registered in their name. It also supports administrative tasks such as paying traffic fines directly from the app, and checking vehicle inspection (ITV) statuses and insurance details.
- Secure Access: Access to the app requires electronic identification, such as a digital certificate or the Cl@ve system. It's designed to ensure that only the registered user can access their personal and vehicle information.
- Additional Services: Over time, the app has expanded to include features like notifications for impending ITV or driving license expirations, and the ability to pay fees associated with vehicle administration.
- User Permissions: The app requests necessary permissions for its functionality, including camera access for document verification, storage for downloading documents, location services for finding nearby DGT offices, and calendar access for appointment reminders.
