The Certificado de registro de ciudadano de la Unión often called as "green N.I.E." or "Residencia". It's the flimsy green paper "card" EU citizens need before they're fully registered as a resident in Spain.

If you want to stay longer than 3 month this is  an important process for all EU citizen.

Not doing this steps means you're not legal living in Spain and can get a fine.

How to pay Tasa?

Required for case(s): 1 / 2 / 3

The Tasa is the money you have to pay for the process.

You have to fill the Model 790 - Codigo 012 and pay it.

Without any Spanish bank account you can use ATM's of nearly every local Spanish bank company. If the ATM wants a valid NIE or DNI - your passport ID doesn't work.

You can use this S2800513J number as NIE to pay you tasa.

"Enough Money" Way

Required for case(s): 2 / 3

If you're not employed by a Spanish company, you'll also need to demonstrate "sufficient funds" in a bank account. The required amount varies based on the number of people and the intended duration of your stay.

Simple solution: Deposit ca. 8,000 € per person into a bank account. Then, contact the bank—regardless of its location—and request a certificate that indicates the ownership and current balance of the account. Families need more.

The amount will calculated by the actual Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples (IPREM).

IPREM x 14 month + 50% IPREM per family member x 14 month
